Dr Jack Giorgio is the main character in Michael Schirripa’s stunning new thriller, Mindhunt.

Jack is an Australian-born and raised forensic psychiatrist in his very early thirties.

He trained in the United States at Colombia Medical School in New York and then completed his specialty training there. He chose to train in the US to challenge himself in what he considered the most competitive and intellectually rigorous medical training environment.

Jack excelled in medical school and during his psychiatric training. He even had psychiatric research papers published in renowned medical journals, which is rare for such a junior physician. He enjoys working as part of the team in the forensic psychiatric hospital and does not see himself as “superior” to the other staff, including doctors and nurses. However, he greatly admires the Professor.

He is a disciplined and passionate long-distance marathon runner who often uses his long training runs to contemplate challenging cases and believes in the mentally stimulating effects of cardio exercise.

Jack is highly ambitious and aspirational, both in terms of his career and in a materialistic sense. However, this can sometimes be a flaw that causes him trouble. He prioritises “quality over quantity” and dreams of owning expensive cars, clothes, food, and wine. He is also an avid reader and dreams of owning rare first-edition books.

He is thoughtful, intelligent, and caring, but he is easily tempted by the allure of success, career advancement, money, and high society, which he seems eager to join. Despite this, he was raised believing that hard work is essential and that one should enjoy the fruits of one’s labour without expecting anything to be handed to them.

A passionate cook, Jack was raised in an Italian-Australian family and speaks Italian. There is also some mystery surrounding his origins. He is single with no children and has an athlete’s body. He finds it very difficult to commit and belong to anyone in particular. He is 5 foot 11 inches tall and a stylish dresser. Although women find him quite attractive, they can be a little intimidated at first but are soon drawn to him.
